HOW TO PLAY
Congratulations! You are about to experience the most realistic 3D game in waterfowl hunting! When you select "Quick Hunt" on the main menu, your dog is an average trained dog. You can shoot and retreive in all six locales, but you cannot earn points for high scores and you cannot improve your dog. In "Career" and "Multiplayer" modes, you must first create your profile and name your dog. From there, you must train your dog in the four basic retrieve skills. If you don't train your dog, you can not retrieve any ducks! When you have trained your dog, you can go hunting and reach new high scores. The high scores screen will track your top scores and reward you with points which you can apply to the four "Dog Stats" - speed, stamina, training, and sense. Build up your dog for competition!

Scoring System:
You can earn a total of 400 points to assign your dog's performance.
For the first 100 to 150 points earned, if you score 1500 or better, you get 2 points. You get one extra point every 200 score points above 1500. For points earned between 150 to 300 points, you get 2 points for scoring 1800 and 1 extra point for scoring every 200 score points after that. For points earned between 300 to 400 points, you get 2 points for scoring 2100 and 1 extra point for scoring every 200 score points after that.

Going Hunting:
The "Escape" key allows you to quit anytime. After your dog training sessions have been completed, you can select your hunting locale and your hunting equipment using the onscreen menus. Once in the field, drop your decoys using the left mouse button. Then you're transported to your duck blind. Beware, if you select the incorrect camo clothing for a specific hunting locale (such as the "forest floor" camo for the snowy "Oacorra" locale) the ducks may see you and not come to your calls.

While Hunting:
Once you are in the duck blind, you will have to use your duck call to call the wild ducks before they will come within shooting range. The keys, "Z", "X", and "C", use your duck call. Click the mouse to go to first person shooting mode. Aim at the flying ducks with your gun's barrel. Click the mouse to fire. You have five shots; to reload press "R". You are limited to shooting six ducks. If you shoot the "blue" ducks, you will earn extra points; however, if you shoot the "red" ducks (the hens), you will lose points. The further away you shoot the flying ducks, the higher you score! To retrieve them, walk your hunter out of the duck blind. (The dog will only retrieve when you are out of the duck blind.) Your dog will follow you and await your command. The green radar shows you where the fallen ducks are located. You can also use your binoculars by pressing the "E" key (press "E" repeatedly to adjust the zoom). You are free to roam the island, but you can only go into shallow water; use your dog to retrieve the ducks that fall away from the island. If you (instead of using your dog) pick up ducks that fall on your island, you will get a reduced score. Keep an eye on your Fatigue Meter in the lower left corner. As your dog retrieves, he loses his energy. To recharge him, stop him with the space bar and let him rest. You only receive your score when you've retrieved all your fallen ducks. Retrieve the further-out ducks first so they will not float out of range.
